Orela fire column made of corten steel – premium rust column with fire pot for bioethanol & fire gel
When evening comes, Orela really gets started: the round vintage rust fire column (available in 80 cm, Ø 20 cm or 100 cm, Ø 25 cm) carries a removable fire pot with lid on top for bioethanol or fire gel – and all around, laser-cut spiral circles swirl across the body like sparks. By day, a slim decor column with spiral ornaments in warm rust patina; by night, a blazing garden torch that turns patio and garden into your favorite place in seconds.
Bioethanol and fire gel burn with a calm, beautiful flame – no smoke, no flying sparks, no ash. No hauling wood, no struggle to light it, no smoky sweater: fill the pot, light it, enjoy. And when the evening is over, the fire is out with a single move.
The fire pot is removable – for easy filling and cleaning – and comes with a matching lid: placed on top it smothers the flame in a controlled way, closed it protects the pot when the column is just for decoration.
Your fire pillar will arrive already fully rusted arriving at your home exactly in the look of the product photos. No weeks of waiting for the patina, no fiddling with rust recipes as with bare metal. Unpack, set up, done.
💡 The big square sister: the purist fire column up to 129 cm – and for crackling wood fires: the fire basket with dandelion design.

🛠️ Material & workmanship
- Material: genuine Corten steel – sturdy and durable
- the circular spirals are laser-cut – every column is one of a kind
- welded and folded by trained metalworkers – Made in Germany
- handmade in our workshop in Bavaria
- Corten steel is a weather-resistant structural steel (used in bridges and facades) – extremely durable
- the decorative rust patina makes every piece unique
🌿 Weatherproof & durable
Under the visible rust layer, corten steel forms a protective barrier layer that seals the material and prevents further corrosion. The column is frost-proof, weather-resistant and low-maintenance, can stay outside all year round and only gains character over time. Tip: when not in use, simply close the fire pot with the lid.
🔥 Safe handling of fire
- use only fuels intended for this purpose (bioethanol or fire gel in a fuel cup)
- never refill while the flame is burning or the pot is hot
- place on a level, fireproof surface with sufficient distance from flammable materials
- never leave the burning column unattended – keep away from children and pets
- to extinguish, place the lid on and smother the flame – never extinguish with water
You will find detailed safety information and warnings as usual directly with the product.
❓ Frequently asked questions
What motif does the fire column have?
Laser-cut circle spirals distributed all around – they give the simple round column movement and look like captured swirls of sparks.
Which fuel should I use in the fire pillar?
The removable fire pot is designed for bioethanol and fire gel – both burn without smoke, without flying sparks and without ash.
How do I extinguish the flame?
Simply place the supplied lid on top – it smothers the flame in a controlled way. Never extinguish with water.
Will the column be delivered fully rusted?
Yes. Your fire column made of genuine Corten steel is already fully rusted when delivered – you’ll see the rust look immediately, just like in the photos. No waiting, no post-treatment.
Large column
Yes. Corten steel is weatherproof and frost-proof – the column can remain permanently in the garden or on the patio. When not in use, close the fire pot with the lid.
What is the difference compared to the fire basket?
The fire column burns with bioethanol or fire gel – smokeless and instantly on and off. The fire basket is designed for a classic wood fire with crackling and embers.
